Rafa Dream Day thanks to PokerStars

Regardless of whether or not you enjoy tennis, meeting Rafael Nadal and hanging out like you’re both long-lost buddies would definitely be cool. And it would especially be nice if the setting for your day with “The King of Clay” was the breathtaking Mediterranean island of Majorca.

PokerStars agrees with all of this, which is why they’re sending one lucky player to spend the day with Nadal on Majorca. The schedule for this unforgettable experience includes playing Rafa in poker, touring his training grounds, and grabbing dinner.

Assuming this sounds like a good time to you, keep in mind that both Rafa Dream Day freerolls and $1.10 qualifiers are running every day. The freerolls take place five times daily, and the winner moves on to the Rafa Dream Day Final. The $1.10 qualifiers run hourly with the top three players earning a spot in the Dream Day Final.

On October 21st at 12:00 ET, the Final happens and the winner here gets to experience the previously described Dream Day with Nadal. Even those who don’t win the chance to hang out with Rafa can still be considered winners because the top 32 finishers receive a signed hat from the tennis legend himself.

PCA 10th Anniversary

It seems hard to believe, but the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure will soon hold its 10th annual event from January 5th–14th, 2013 in the Bahamas. Since beginning in 2004, the PCA has grown to become one of the richest and most prestigious live tournament series in the world. For evidence of this fact, consider that the 2012 PCA Main Event featured a $10,398,400 prize pool and John Dibella collected a top prize worth $1,775,000.

Now that we’ve established how major money is going to be involved, it’s worth mentioning that PokerStars is giving away 10 Main Event prize packages every week until December 9th, 2012. Each package is worth $16,000, and this amount covers the $10,300 ME buy-in along with money for hotel/travel costs.

Perhaps the best part of this deal is that the qualifiers cost just $10 to enter. To find these qualifiers, you need to visit the “Events” > “PCA” > “All” tabs and register before the 12:00 ET start time on Sundays. If you think $10 is a little steep to spend on one qualifier, you can also find plenty of PCA satellites running every hour. Since the cheapest satellites are just $0.10, any player can take a shot at winning a $16k PCA prize package.

Notable 2013 PCA Tournaments

While we’ve thoroughly covered the PCA Main Event, there are going to be some other noteworthy tournaments held over the 10-day period. In fact, the very first tournament on January 5th is sure to draw plenty of attention because it’s a $100,000 Super High Roller. Last year, high stakes phenom Viktor “Isildur1” Blom topped a 32-player field and collected $1,254,000 in this $100k buy-in event. We can only expect another huge top payout and star winner in the 2013 Super High Roller.

On January 13th, we’ll get to see another star-studded tournament in the $25,500 High Roller. The previous installment of this event saw Jonathan Duhamel and Leonid Bilokur battle for a $1,134,930 first place prize. Duhamel was a strong favorite to win since he began heads-up play with a 2-1 chip advantage; however, Bilokur clawed his way back into the matchup and eventually won.

In all, there’ll be 40 different tournaments running at the 2013 PCA with buy-ins ranging from $300 to $5,300. So keep the large number of side events in mind if you happen to win a $16k PCA Main Event package.
