John Phan
John Phan is a Vietnamese-American professional poker player born on October 10, 1974 in Hue, Vietnam. His family came to the United States when he was long, settling in California. John began playing poker and found that he could beat most of the players he played against. By the time he was 21, John was already making his living as a poker player. John Phan is also known as “The Razor.”
John Phan has done well at the World Series of Poker, having made the money several times, including one second place finish, but has not yet won a WSOP bracelet. John Phan has also appeared at one World Poker Tour final table, but did not win that event either. Despite not having any WSOP or WPT victories, John “The Razor” Phan has won almost $3 million in poker tournament winnings, without having to piggyback off of an online WSOP satellite.
John Phan currently lives in Long Beach, California. His parents did not originally approve of John Phan’s career choice, but after their son won millions of dollars playing poker, they gave their stamp of approval.
